David R. Carlin

Funeral services for David R. Carlin, 56, of Midwest City, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 22, 2007, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

David R. Carlin was born June 6, 1950, in Chickasha, the son of David A. and Claudine Carlin. He died February 18, 2007, in Tulsa.

As a young boy David's family moved to Fredonia, Kansas. He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1969. After graduation he moved back to Chickasha and joined the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam Era, where he was stationed in Germany.

David married Deborah [Wenninger] Carlin on July 3, 1970, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They made their home in Chickasha where they raised their daughter Amy.

David later decided to further his education and attended college at USAO. He graduated in 1976 with a Political Science Degree. He had been employed as a mud logging engineer, the U.S. Postal Services, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, and was currently employed with the Oklahoma State Department of Veteran Affairs.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal and paternal grandparents; and brother-in-law, Jerry Don Wenninger.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Carlin of the home; daughter, Amy Carlin of Dallas, Texas; mother, Claudine Carlin of Fredonia, Kansas; brother and sister-in-law: Tim and Patricia Carlin of Denison, Texas; brother, Danny Carlin of Wichita, Kansas; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Zelda Wenninger of Cement; three brothers-in-law and wives: Joe and Cheryl Wenninger of Marlow; Randy and Charlotte Wenninger of Cordell; and Mike and Lori Wenninger of Anadarko; many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be held at 1 p.m. in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
