James Earl Alvey

James Earl Alvey was born on July 20, 1926 in Apache, Oklahoma to Floyd and Margaret [Johnson] Alvey. He died on June 16, 2012 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 85.

James was raised and attended school in Apache, OK.

He entered the US Army after graduation and served until Honorably Discharged at the conclusion of WWII.

James worked for many years as a remodeling contractor in the Lawton and Cache area, and during this period, started buying and selling homes and accumulating rental property. He also served as the director of the Apache Housing Authority for a number of years. He eventually purchased Alvey Building Supplies and operated the business for 15 years prior to his retirement.

James was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and cherished his family with all his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Wanda Maguire, Barbara Jones, Betty "Tommy" Clift and Katherine Alvey.

Survivors include his wife Jean of the home; three sons, David Alvey and wife Diane of Lawton, Rodney Alvey of Lawton, and Wayne Wade and wife Pam of Cache; five daughters, Sonia Wiedanz of Lawton, Debbie Parker and husband Stan of Edmond, OK, Carol Ann Perou and husband Kenny of Lawton, Donna Schlegel of Cache, and Tammy McClure and husband Daryl of Argyle, TX; a son in law, Udo Schlegel of Cache; two sisters, Norma Munsterman of Clinton, OK, and Anita Sawyer and husband Ira of Apache; a brother in law, Roy Jones of Cache; one sister in law, Betty Ruth Morrison of Clute, TX; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
