George Arthur Woods, Sr.

November 25, 1958 - April 01, 2018

SFC George A. Woods Sr., USA, Retired, age 59, of Lawton passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at his residence.
George was born November 25, 1958 to Carolyn McNeal and Oliver Lucus in Fairfield, North Carolina. He graduated from Mattamuskeet High School in Swam Quarter, North Carolina. The eldest son, he signed up for Army duties on December 11, 1977 under the Delayed Entry Program. He became active duty on July 25, 1978 and continued to serve until February 2000. During his time in the United States Army, George received numerous awards, medals and commendations. He was an amazing soldier.
Preceded in death by his father, Oliver Lucas, George is survived by his wife Elanor "Girlie" Woods, of the Philippines; his mother, Carolyn McNeal; his sons, George Woods and his three children and Marvin Woods and his wife and three children; his daughter, Angel Woods and her three children; his brothers, Coalvan Woods and his wife and children, Gary Woods and his wife and children and Charles McNeal and his children and his sisters, Jennifer Woods and her son and Myra McNeal along with any other family and friends whom he loved dearly.
