Ernest Allen Peck

Ernest Allen Peck, age 68, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 in Shawnee.
He was born Sept. 2, 1949, in Shannon County, South Dakota, to Ernest and Mildred (Dixon) Peck.
Ernest grew up in Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School. He lived the majority of his life in Fort Worth, Texas, but most recently resided in Shawnee.
Ernest joined the United States Air Force right out of high school and served in Viet Nam. He then reenlisted and was a Tech Sgt. at the time of his retirement. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for McDonald Douglas in Kansas City as an aircraft mechanic. He also held positions of Flight Crew Chief and Technical Aircraft Mechanic. He retired from there in September of 2005.
In his spare time he enjoyed camping, the outdoors, and playing Bingo. He also enjoyed spending time with family and loved to travel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Joseph Peck.
Ernest is survived by his son, Russell and Heidi Peck of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter, Amber Lynn Peck of Raleigh, North Carolina; siblings, Rochelle Birrenhott and Bill of South Dakota, Carla and David Prewett of Tecumseh, Gregory and Karen Peck of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Janet McGrath of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nieces, Janna Treat and Christey Treat; nephew, Brian Peck; special friend, Judy; and numerous other family and friends.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, at St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Shawnee, with Father Joseph Schwarz officiating. Following the service a 2 p.m. burial will be held at Fort Sill National Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements handled by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
