James Gogerty

October 18, 1944 - July 19, 2018

Sunset for James A. Gogerty, age 73, of Lawton was July 19, 2018 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.
Sunrise for James was August 18, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Reva Roberts. James joined the US Army June 1978 and gave nineteen years and nine months of service, he earned a Purple Heart while serving his country. He was a paratrooper and served three tours in Vietnam. After getting out of the service he worked with Swift Trucking company for twenty years, and for about four years they owned Ann's German Quick Stop. James loved being outdoors and going fishing, he loved to cook and enjoyed playing at the casino.
Survivors include, his daughter, Rosemary Mueche and her husband Richard; his son, James A. Gogerty Jr.; his granddaughters, Zoe D. Mueche, Faith E. Mueche, Hannah T. Mueche, and Alana I. Gogerty; his first wife, Dolores T. Gogerty, his late wife, Anna Cain and a dear family friend Sandra Tahpay. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and he adored them dearly. We will miss you Daddy!
A private memorial service for James A. Gogerty, age 73, will be held at Ft. Sill National Cemetery.
