James Willie Evans

Mr. James Willie Evans was born July 29, 1936 to the late Rosie Elta Taylor and Norphlet Evans in El Dorado, Arkansas. Mr. Evans departed this life on August 19, 2019 at the age of 83 years and 21 days.
James was raised by his grandmother, Mrs. Frances Taylor. James attended El Dorado schools as a young man and graduated from Lawton High School and attended Cameron University. He joined the United States Army in 1953 until 1956. He was employed at General Motor from 1956-1958. He then reenlisted with the U.S. Army in 1958. James did several tours: 2 years in Germany, 2 years in Korea and 1 year in Turkey.
In 1961, he married the love of his life, Earnistine Lovette, they united in matrimony on Sept 6, 1962 and celebrated 44 years together. Earnistine preceded him in death April 2, 2005. He retired from the Army in Aug 1975 at Fort Sill, OK.
Mr. Evans received several awards: Mentorious Service; Army Commendation; Good Conduct; National Defense; Drill Sergeant Award; Army Force Expeditionary Award; Sergeant Award; and the Identificatory Badge. He then began working for Civil Service from 1979 to 1998.
Mr. Evans is survived by his aunt, Jean White of El Dorado, Ak., his brother, Joe Evans of Milwaukee; his sister, Gloria Evans of Milwaukee; his sister-in-law, Norma Burns of Dallas, Tx.; and 2 sons, Chester Lovette & Everette Lovette, both of Lawton, OK.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Earnistine Evans and his sister, Faye Wilman.
Graveside Service: Monday, August 26, 2019 at Ft. Sill National Cemetery. Services with full Military Honors are under the direction of Whinery Huddleston Funeral Service.
