Juanita Thompson
1920 ~ 2005

FLETCHER-Funeral for Juanita Thompson, 84, Fletcher, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God, Fletcher, with the Rev. Robert Whitley, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Thompson died Sunday, January 23, 2005 at a Lawton nursing center.

Burial will be at Fletcher Cemetery under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher.

She was born May 9, 1920 in Elgin to Jesse Kuntz and Bertha Jane Wall Kuntz.

She attended Happy Hollow School and Elgin School and lived in this area most of her life.

She worked as a cook in area cafes and was also a housewife working on the farm. She lived in her home south of Fletcher since 1955, until she became a resident of the Cyril nursing home in 2001 and was moved to a Lawton nursing home in 2003

Juanita married Dewey Thompson on July 28, 1965. They were married more than 30 years, until his death Dec. 10, 1998.

She was a longtime member of Fletcher Assembly of God.

Survivors include a son: Ronnie Sherrill; five grandchildren: Christa Smiley and her husband, Scott; Michelle Sherrill,Michael Sherrill, Jeff Sherill,and Jennifer Sherrill; two great-grandchildren: Erin Smiley and Allison Sherrill; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister: Mildred Crawford; and a niece: Peggy Ann Crawford.
