Pete Henry Mathis
Funeral For Pete Mathis Was Monday Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church here for Pete Henry Mathis, 84, of Cyril who died early Saturday in a Chickasha hospital.
The services were conducted by the Rev. Frank Fincher, pastor. Cyril Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mathis was born Aug. 21, 1893, in Nebraska. He moved to Cement in 1932 and worked in the oil fields. He and his wife moved to Cyril in 1962 when he retired.
He was Baptist and a veteran of World War I.
Mathis was married May 11, 1925, in Pauls Valley to Emma Zisman, who survives him.
Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Went of Apache and Mrs. Imogene Colder of Farmington, N.M. and two sisters, Mrs. Paul Folen of Kansas and Mrs. Agnes Cook of Beaver, and six grandchildren.
Burial was in the Fletcher Cemetery with Art Brown, Orville Moser, Harry Claypool, Shirley Peggy, Paul Rhoads, and Don Swann serving as casket bearers.
