Trecia Agnes Ward

Trecia Ward was born on July 6, 1935 in Cove, AR to Alvin and Mabel [Oldham] Bates. She died on April 12, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Cache School Auditorium. Interment will follow at Cache Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home between 1:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Sunday, or between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM on Monday.

Trecia was raised and attended school in Arkansas.

Shortly after graduation from high school in Winslow, AR, she married Eugene "Earl" Ward in Cache, OK. They made their home in Cache where Trecia was a full time wife and Mom, devoting her time and efforts to raising 6 kids (4 BOYS), being taxi driver to all the events growing children find absolutely impossible to miss, and maintaining responsible church involvement for the entire family.

Once most of the kids had finished school and left home, Trecia started her professional career, working for many years as the Cache City Treasurer, working for the state in the accounting department, and finally returning to school to earn her Respiratory Therapist certification. She initially worked for Memorial Hospital, but soon found her permanent place at Reynolds where she was still working on a full time basis at the time of her death.

Family, church and work were always of primary importance to Trecia, but she always found time to volunteer on projects helping the poor, needy and sick!

She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, being an important part of her children's and grandchildren's lives, and most recently being instrumental in the establishment of a new church, the Cache River of Life Fellowship. Trecia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl; daughter, Debbie Ward; and a brother, Calvin Bates.

Survivors include 6 children, Earl Ward and wife Eunice of Cold Springs, OK, Gary Ward and wife Marlene of Cache, Michael Ward and wife Cathy of Cache, Cheryl Seigler and husband Clint of Edmond, Sharon Hicks and husband Darrell of Clinton, and Ricky Ward and wife Joni of Cache; grandchildren, Rachel Watts, Joshua "JJ" Hicks, Sarah Hicks, Jennifer Jenkins, Melissa Roberts, Christy Self, Daniel Ward, Michelle Ward, Calie Ward, Zach Ward and Marcus Ward; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Doyle, Randall, Foye and Raymond Bates; sisters, Sondra Goff and Victoria Queen; and numerous nieces, nephews, co-workers she felt were family, and her family of friends from church.
