Funeral services for Margaret Faye Brecheen Ridley, a longtime Coal County resident, were held Friday, Oct 16, 2009 at Coalgate Church of Christ with Mr. Lloyd McElhaney officiating. Burial was in Moore Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mrs. Ridley was born December 27, 1929 at McAlester, OK to Palmer and Faye Northcott Brecheen and passed away October 14, 2009 at Coalgate at the age of 79. She attended Olney School, graduated from Ada High School in 1947 and married Ray Ridley on January 10,1949 in Ada, OK. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2007. Mrs Ridley worked for the Olney Post Office, opened the Band Box Beauty Shop in Coalgate and worked as a clerk for the Coalgate Post Office for 29 years, retiring in October 1992.

Survivors include son, Gary Ridley of Coalgate; two daughters, Carol Denson of Olney and Kay Battles and husband David of Olney; grandchildren, Kenny Denson and wife Shonda, Kyle Denson and wife , Jim Battles and wife Melissa, Joe Battles, Lucas Ray Ridley and Lacy Edwards; along with five great grandchildren and one great, great grandson; sisters-in-law, Zelma Dean Brecheen of Olney and Zelda Ridley of Coalgate; along with numerous other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin sister, Marjorie Hefley Droke; brothers-in-law, Howard Hefley and Dan Droke; and son-in-law, Hershel Denson.

Casketbearers were Howard Ables, Zane Brecheen, Dane Brecheen, Mike Hefley, Tim Hefley, and Eddie Anglin. Honorary bearers were Don Burns, Nickey Beal, John Wayne Ward, Herman Bills, Victor Enrico, Delbert Inman, and E.A. Gossett.
