Funeral services for Mildred Carolyn "Episcopo", a former Coalgate resident, of Guthrie, OK were held Tuesday, December 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Valerian Gonsalves officiating. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Wheeler was born July 18, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA, graduated Beauty School in Pittsburgh, also attended Oklahoma City Community College. On December 6, 1944 she married Davalson Wheeler in Pittsburgh, PA. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1999. Ms. Wheeler was a beauty operator where she owned her own shop in Wunesburg, PA and worked as a beautician at St. Anne's Retirement Home in Oklahoma City. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guthrie, a 4-H leader of Grant Go Getters, and a member of the Our Lady of Good Counsel in Lehigh where she was active in serving as Eucharistic Minister and Lector.

Survivors include daughters, Mary Wheeler of Norman and Valerie Cotton and husband Mitchell of Coyle, OK; grandchildren, Eric Cotton and wife Amber of Edmond and Ashley Cotton of Coyle, OK; great granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Elise Cotton of Edmond; along with numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.

Casketbearers were Ed Wheeler, Don Wheeler, Ben Wheeler, Mark Walker, Garvin Sloan, and Gerald Brice. Honorary bearers were Jack Ruffini, Bob Ware and Marvin Estes.
