Mary Pauline "Polly" Long Lanoy

Mary Pauline "Polly" Lanoy, age 93, a long time Coalgate resident was born on December 21, 1925, to Orville and Nannie V. (Jackson) Long, at Cole, OK. Pauline passed away on March 11, 2019 at her home in Coalgate, OK. at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 18 days.

Pauline attended Lehigh schools through the 7th grade, then attended Coalgate 8th through 10th, Ada High 11th & 12th graduating in 1943. She attended East Central University earning her Bachelors degree in 1951 and her masters degree in 1966.

Pauline then taught school for 40 years, 2 years in Coal County, 38 years in Wyoming. She had been a classroom teacher at each level, in all subjects, K-8: teaching departmentalized classes of Math, Social Studies, Language Arts, Home Economics and Library Skills at one time or another during her 40 years Experience. Pauline was an organizer, leader, mentor, promoter: served various offices of education circle in Wyoming. She volunteered for numerous activities; 22 years was official timekeeper/operator of electric scoreboard clock for Home basketball games and tournaments, also for community men's games. Her biography, by Gail Auto, was published in " LET YOUR LIFE SHINE, " Vol. III, 1994 was presented the Wyoming-Alpha Xi State Achievement Award for 2000.

Mary Pauline married Leon Lanoy on August 2, 1946 in Coalgate, OK. He preceded in death on July 2, 2015

Pauline was a member of the Coalgate First Baptist Church, OES, Chapter 7, Rawlings, WY, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Alpa Xi Sate, Wyoming Alpha Delta Chapter, Rawlings WY., Pauline was co-recipient with her husband, Leon, the East Central University Hallie Brown Ford Award for Philanthropy in 2008. they were of the prestigious Golden Tiger Medallion Awards by ECU as having earned their BS degrees over 50 years previous. In 2009, they were inducted into the Educators Hall of Fame at ECU as having completed 37 and 40 successful years as educators. In retirement Mrs. Lanoy continued to be active in The Delta Kappa Gamma Society, an International working organization for teachers which "...promotes professional and personal growth of womens educators and excellence in education."

Pauline is survived by her nephews John Long & wife Debra of Bakersfield, CA R.V. Bob Long & wife Karen of Coalgate, OK, neice Janna Shelley & husband Kyle, 11 GREAT NIECES & NEPHEWS, and SISTER-IN-LAW: Margaret Sandman

Along with numerous cousins, many friends & a host of former, dearly loved students.

Pauline was preceded in death by Husband Leon Lanoy, Parents: Orville & Nancy (Jackson) Long, Brother & sister-in-law: E.H. Gene & Helen Long, amd niece Susan (Long) Russell
