Elsie Etoile Rogers Jackson

Funeral services for Mrs. Etoile Jackson were held Monday morning at the First Baptist Church in Coalgate. Rev. Donald Price, Tulsa, OK officiated, assisted by Rev. J. W. Ray.

A resident of Lehigh for many years, she was born Oct. 19, 1913 at Pine. She died Friday, evening in a Tulsa hospital at the age of 55.

Mrs. Jackson has been a member and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist church in Coalgate for a number of years. Members of the family asked those who wish to make contributions in her name to the church's building fund.

She was employed as assistant director of the Coal County Community Action Program.

Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Virginia Richards, Tulsa, Mrs. Karen Hatch, Oklahoma City; five sons, Charles E., Owasso, OK, G.W. .Emporia, Kan.. Jack R.,Oklahoma City, Larry, Tishomingo, and Randy, of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Lois Mankin and Mrs. Hazel Pendley, Santa Clara, Calif., Mrs. Ernestine Palmer, Coalgate, and Mrs. Bobby Sue Ramsey, Odessa, Texas; five brothers, Burl, Herman, Raymond, & L.B. Rogers all of Coalgate, and Clarence Rogers, Borger, Tex.; and 11 grandchildren.

Burial was at Lehigh Cemetery under direction of Slaters Funeral Home. Her five brothers and Jack Matthews of Coalgate served as pall bearers.
