Funeral services for Jerry Dewayne Mowdy were held Friday, August 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Coalgate Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley, OK.

Mr. Mowdy was born September 29, 1945 in Coalgate to Elmer and Faril Mowdy and passed away August 1, 2010 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 64. Jerry grew up in Coalgate and graduated from Coalgate High School. He served in the Army from 1967-1969 as a sharpshooter. After being discharged he moved to the Oklahoma City area.

Survivors include his acquaintance, Jeneva of Bethany, OK; five children, Crystal White and huband Darron, Jimmy Ayers, Tammie Russell and husband Jodie, Michelle McWhitter and husband Shon, Jennifer Samples and husband Johnny; seventeen grandchildren, Amber Kuntez, Ashley Stupka, Amanda White, Kerstin and Garrett Bellah, Jimmy and Joshua Ayers, Brandon Lawhorn, Lauren and Kimberlyn Russell, Taylor Keener, Dalton and Siera McWhitter, Brittany Mowdy, Ashley, Johnny, and Josh Samples; serveral nieces and nephews; three brothers, Jessie Mowdy and wife Nadine, Elmo Mowdy and Mirl Mowdy; two sisters, mary Pritchard and husband Stand and Martha Pritchard.

Mr. Mowdy was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Mowdy; parents, Elmer and Faril Mowdy; brother, Manuel Mowdy; son Scott Hooper; niece Donna Kaye and beloved dog JD.
