Graveside services for Rosemary (Perkins) Derrick, a former Coalgate resident, were held Monday, February 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Coalgate Cemetery. Services were officiated by Mr. Arvel Hall and arrangements were under the directions of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mrs. Derrick was born November 27, 1928 in Vernon, TX to William and Mildred Carter (Barnes) Perkins and passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Ada at the age of 82. She attended school in Arkansas and married John Barton Derrick on July 25, 2949 in Boonevillen, AR. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2000. Mrs. Derrick was a homemaker, home provider and delivered the Ada Evening News. She was a member of the Coalgate Church of Christ.

Survivors include her children, John Barton Derrick, Carter Brooks Derrick, and Mary Ann Derrick Shores and husband Johnny all of Ada; grandson, Johnathan Brooks Derrick of Ada; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Perkins Bell of Gurdon, AR, Ruth Garner of Danville, AR, and Thelma Davis of Texas; brother-in-law, Glen Derrick of Stonewall, OK: along nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Thomas William Derrick; sister, Crystal Garner and brother, Travis Perkins.
