Dolores "PeeWee" Marie Wardrope Childers

Gradeside services for Dolores "PeeWee" Marie (Wardrope) Childers, a longtime Coalgate resident , were held Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Coalgate Cemetery with Rev. David Unsell officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mrs. Childers was born April 24, 1914 in Coalgate to Thomas and Annie (Powell) Wardrope and passed away October 21, 2010 in Coalgate at the age of 93. She attended Coalgate schools and graduated in 1935. Mrs. Childers married Elmo Childers on December 20, 1941, was a Welfare Social Worker and was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Bills and husband Joe of Coalgate; two grandchildren, Chillie Joe Bills of Coalgate and Staci Acker and husband Marty of Coalgate; great grandchildren, Kaci Koen, Montana Bills, C. J. Bills, A. J. Acker, Rhett Acker and Cherokee Acker all of Coalgate; sister, Claurice (Warrdrope) King of Davis, CA; brother-in-law, Woodrow Childers of Coalgate; along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siter, Wanda Newson; and brother, Edmond Wardrope.

Casketbearers were Gaylin Childers, Justin Childers, A. J. Acker, Montana Bills, Rhett Acker and C. J. Bills. Honorary bearers were Bob Cody, Richie Childers, Nick Lolli, Woodrow Childers, J. C. Smith and Robert Wardrope.
