Funeral services for Violet Ruth “Lanoy” Bowerman, a longtime resident, will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 2:00p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. Rich Smith officiating. Burial will be in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown's Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bowerman was born April 11, 1934 in Coalgate to Fred and Mattie (Bodine) Lanoy and passed away October 18, 2010 at her home in Coalgate at the age of 76. She attended Coalgate schools and married Roy Bowerman on April 4, 1953 in Cottonwood, OK, Violet was a housewife, attended the Coalgate Assembly of God Church and later attended Victory Life Church in Durant, OK.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Bowerman of the home in Coalgate; daughters, Cherry Hefley and husband Wendell of Clarita and Marilyn Smith and husband Dub of Durant; grandchildren, Dusti Bledsoe and husband Ryan, Brett Hefley and wife Kristin and Stormy Smith; great grandchild, Jaxon Bledsoe; sisters, June Lankford, Melva Daniel, Sharon Ennis and husband Russell and Cheryl Kirk and husband Bob; along with numerous other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Brandi Hefley and brother, Vernon Lanoy.

Casketbearers will be Bob Kirk, Wendell Hefley, Ryan Bledsoe, Dub Smith, Brett Hefley and Russell Ennis.
