Leona Young

March 18, 1927 ~ March 25, 2020

Graveside services for Leona Young, 93, of Lula are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Centrahoma Cemetery, Rev. Buddy Drake will officate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Young passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at a Coalgate Nursing Home. She was born March 18, 1927 at Amity, AR to William Andrew and Fleeta Mae Sparks Pittman. She graduated from high school in Amity, AR.

She married B. D. Young May 25, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Young was a homemaker and later a home health care provider. She was a member of Rocky Point Missionary Baptist Church at Lula.

Survivors include two daughters, Lavoyce Owens and husband J. B. of Holdenville and Tracy Bond of Centrahoma; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Young of Tupelo; eight grandchildren, Stacy Jarvis, Kim Bradley, Jeremy Young, Tim Young, Amy Deaton, Dwayne Bond II, Ashley Fortenberry and Tristian Bond; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Larry David Young and Terry Lynn Young; a brother; and three sisters.

Bearers will be Jeremy Young, Timmy Young, Dwayne Bond, II, Tristian Bond, Danny Holder and Doug Smith.
