Funeral services for Delbert Holder, a lifelong Coalgate resident, will be held Friday, September 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. James Williams and Rev. Richard Magby officiating. Family night will be Thursday evening 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Centrahoma Cemetery with arrangements under the directions of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mr. Holder was born May 23, 1923 in Coalgate, OK to Albert and Ona Pearl (Baker) Holder. and passed away August 30, 2010 in Durant, OK at the age of 87. He attended Rock Creek School and married Erma Leona Sells on July 9, 1943 (actual date July 6, 1943) in Coalgate. She preceded him death on December 9, 2004. Delbert was a lifelong rancher and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include a son James Holder and wife Patricia of Coalgate: a daughter Peggy Lou Nelson and husband Michael of Coalgate; grandchildren, Haley LouAnn Nelson, James Dewayne Holder and wife Lori, Melinda Guinn and husband Brian Bradshaw, Brenda Joyce Trevathan all of Coalgate and Charity Dawn Holder of Calera, OK; step grandchildren, Roberta Joyce Weathers and husband Lee of Coalgate, Samatha Lynn Overcashier and husband Tim of Lompoc, CA and Stephanie Ann Randolph and husband Allen of Oklahoma City, OK; eighteen great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; special niece Claudine Hallada and husband Jim of CA; along with numerous other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Roy Holder, Floyd Holder, Cecil Holder, W.A. Holder, and Elbert "Nooks" Holder; and sisters, Gladys Enrico and Ola May Becquart.

Casketbearers will be Jerry English, Steve Cody, Earl DePasse, Chris Collins, Herman Rogers, Jr., and Rick Heinze. Honorary bearers will be Bob Cody, Dale Whittington, Virginia Whittington, Jeannie West and Berl Rogers.

Note: Delbert was traveling with his son, James Holder, to Durant to go to his dialysis the day of his passing. They were just south of the Caddo exit on highway 69 when Delbert passed away. He was transported by ambulance to Durant hospital where he was pronounced dead.
