Funeral services for Cleburn Henry Marcum, a former Coal Country resident, recently of Jenks, OK, will be held Friday, January 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Mr. Danny Ward and Mr. Johnny D. Ward officiating. Burial will be in Cairo Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mr. Marcum was born January 12, 1912 in Cairo, OK to Jessie Bert and Mamie Lillian Dollar Marcum and passed away January 25, 2009 in Jenks, OK at the age of 97. He attended Cairo Schools, was a rancher and a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church. He married Dorothy Louise McCorkle on August 12, 1933 in Coalgate. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2004.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Marcum of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, March Wood of Tulsa, Kay Hunt of Coalgate and Sue Allen of Atoka; eleven great grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; brother, Floyd "Buster" Marcum of Ethel, LA; along with nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters, Gladys Sherman and Myrtle Welch; daughter, Laura Nell; and grandsons, Don Wood and Henry Wood.
