FRED “CHEESIE” JENNINGS

ADA-Graveside services for J. Fred “Cheesie” Jennings, 86, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Byrd’s Prairie Cemetery in Tupelo, Captain Guy Nickum will conduct the service. A Wake Service will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home with Rev. Robert McGowan officiating.

Mr. Jennings died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at a local nursing home. He was born August 31, 1922 at Tupelo, Oklahoma to J. L. and Clara Bell Landis Jennings. He attended Tupelo schools and graduated from Tupelo High School.

He married Debbie Schrader April 1, 2000. Mr. Jennings was a machinist and tool and die maker. He was an avid traveler and returned to Ada in 2000.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Jennings, of the home; four daughters, Marilyn “Kay” Ledbetter and husband Greg, Columbus, OH, Clara Jennings, Ada, Anita Jennings, Ada, and Janet Jennings, Ada; a son, James Jennings, Ada; a brother, Ross “Buddy” Rogers, Concord, CA; sixteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harry Landis, Joe Landis, Willie Landis, and Johnny Jennings; sisters, Serena Landis Gregory, Carrie Landis Bullard, Cloketa Jennings Rogers, Goldie Jennings Wicks, Mozelle Jennings Messer, and Katherine Rogers Convary.
