Dorothea Anna Keller, 94, of Norman passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014. 

She was born in Norman to Leslie and Amelia Hall on September 6, 1919.  She married her very handsome, twinkly blue-eyed husband, Herman Keller, Sr. on June 6, 1941.  A lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and its longest continuous member, she served and volunteered on numerous committees and the Women’s Guild.  In 1990, she received an award from the church in recognition for her service and was named Woman of the Year for 1994-1995.  Appointed by the mayor, she served on the original board of the Norman Human Rights Commission from July 13, 1971 to July 13, 1972.  After her youngest child started school, she went to work for the Head Start Program as a cook and later worked for the public school system in the lunch program.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; infant daughter, Helen Ruth; son-in-law, Nick Roberts; grandsons, Peter Roberts and Cory Parker; great grandson, Brian Roberts; and brothers, John Hall, Leslie (Pete) Hall, James Hall, and Mike Hall.

Dorothea is survived by her 11 children and their spouses, Patricia Roberts, Barbara and Steve Williams, Herman, Jr. and Trisha Keller, Julia and Jerry Couchman, Mary Lee and Indra Goradia, Lewis and Sandy Keller, Susan Parker, Dottie and Mike Straight, Kathy and Mark Allen, Robert and Ellen Keller, and Rita and Clayton Newman; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.  She also has many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Visitation for Dorothea will be held 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014 and 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 6, 2014 with a Vigil Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman. 

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 N. Porter in Norman with interment following at the Warren Cemetery.
