Jack L. Martin Obit

Jack L. Martin, 70, of Duncan, OK, passed away on August 9, 2003 at Duncan Regional Hospital.
Jack was born on Sept. 10, 1932, to Lester and Hazel Martin. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in the electrical business for several years and owned a pet and grooming shop in Oklahoma City at one time. He was the pastor of the 39th Street Baptist Mission in Oklahoma City in the early 70's. He was the founder of Graceway Fellowship Baptist Church in Duncan, which is now Graceway Baptist Church.
After illness forced him to step down from the pulpit, he continued to minister from home by starting an internet ministry called "Good Morning Greetings". This ministry was a daily greeting sent to many people across the U. S. as well as overseas. During his frequent hospital stays, he would continue to witness and lead several people to the Lord and enrolled new recipients to his greeting ministry.
Jack was preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother Robert.
He is survived by his wife Carol of the home, his children, daughter Diana Morrison and husband Jim, son Danny Martin, and their mother, Opal Wilson Martin, all of OKC; two sisters, Pearl Gantz, Bristow, and Fern Eastom, Colorado. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jaclyn Hamman of Moore, Patrick Morrison of OKC, Jaime Wilmer of Midwest City, Andy Martin and Garrett Martin of Meeker, two special great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Addyson Hamman of Moore and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday, Aug 13 at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel with burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 700 SW 104, Oklahoma City.
Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel Moore, OK.
