Vondel Smith Mortuary

Viewing will be 4-8 PM Saturday & 12-8 PM Sunday with the family greeting friends from 2-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Services to celebrate her life will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Hillcrest Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Presbyterian Church, 6600 S Penn, OKC, OK  73159 

Gerry, 84, received her Heavenly reward on May 12, 2016. The daughter of George E. & Edna Rader, Gerry was born July 13, 1931 in Stroud, OK.

After graduating from Stroud HS in 1949, Gerry married Kenneth Paul Hopkins on Sept 1, 1951 & together they shared more than 51 years of marriage before his passing on Oct 16, 2002. Her life’s work was being a wife, mother and dedicated homemaker who enjoyed being a band supporter, camp fire leader and den mother for her children’s activities. Gerry thoroughly enjoyed traveling extensively and meeting new people all over the world alongside her niece, Sandee Dickson. A longtime & active member of Hillcrest Presbyterian Church, Gerry was known for her loving spirit, unwavering faith, and servant’s heart. She will be deeply missed

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Paul Hopkins
sisters, Vivian Shearer & Bernie McGlashan.

She leaves behind her loving son, Dr. Ronald Hopkins & his wife, Joyce;
daughter, Denise Cox & her husband, David; brother-in-law, Don McGlashan;
grandchildren: Julie Smith & husband, Josh, Dr. Jeffrey Hopkins & wife, Jessica, Allison Cox & fiancé, Michael Glover and Caleb Cox; great granddaughters: Paige & Chloe Smith;
many other beloved family & friends
