JAMES CHANDLER RITES PEND
James M Chandler, 81, of 1012 SW Binkley, an Oklahoma City steam fitter since 1919, died Monday night at Mercy Hospital. Services are pending at Hunter Funeral Home.
Chandler was born in Columbia, Tenn. He and his wife, Lora, moved to the city from Wichita, Kan, in 1919. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this year.
Chandler worked as a steam fitter in Oklahoma and Texas. He was a member of the Steam and Refrigeration Fitters Local Union 344, and received a 50-year pin two years ago.
He attended the Christian Science Church.
Surviving is his wife; two sons, C M of 3718 NW 14 and Clint of 1737 SW 17; a daughter, Mrs John Fields of 920 NW 17; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs Bertha Thorne of Memphis, Tenn.
