Carl A. (Alta) Sr. Obit

Shores, Carl A., Sr., age 80, died in Okla. City. on Nov. 20, 1997, at the home where he had resided for the past 48 years. He was born on May 26, 1917 in Holdenville, Okla. He is preceded in death by his father, James Larkin Shores; his mother Carrie Sarah Jane Fennell; two brothers, Lester and Clarence; three sisters, Lona, Selma and Hazel; also his wife of 29 years and the mother of his Children, Montez Vivian; and second wife of 21 years, Maxine.
He is survived by a sister, Dessie Stanfill of Sacramento., Calif., four children, Carl A Jr. and wife Janet of Jones, Okla, Wanda Seaton and husband, Bob of Okla. City, Michael R. and wife La Nell of Okla. City and Larry K. and wife Dorothy Cheryl of Kennewick, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He served with Honor in the European Theatre with the 740th Tank Battalion during WWII. He retired from Tinker AFB in 1970 as an Instrument Electrician. He was also a Meat Cutter by trade and worked in many local grocery stores. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and loved Western Swing music. He will be missed by many friends and loved ones.
Services were held at the Gene Adams Chapel Nov. 24, 1997 with interment at Resthaven Cemetery.
