Born in Emmetsburg, Iowa on Oct 31, 1920 to William and Mabel Salisbury, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 29, 2012 at the age of 91 years old.

Dorothy married Carl E. Owens on Nov 11, 1942.

She is survived by 3 sons, Ernest Owens and wife Betti of Millington, TN., Arnold Owens and wife Linda of Lawton, OK., and Marvin Owens and wife Brenda of Wichita Falls, TX., 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lucille Hill, Ester Nesmo and Juanita Brown and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was baptized at the Midwest City Baptist Church and worked off and on for many years at Noric Brothers Printing and The Times Journal Publishing Company in Oklahoma City as a bindery worker. Dorothy loved God, family, gardening, reading and raising chicken.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, Ralph, Richard, Willard and William Salisbury and Harry Dewitt; one son, and one grandson.
