Paralee Orr, age 95 of Purcell and formerly of Wayne, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the Grace Living Center in Norman.

Paralee was born October 23, 1921, on the family homestead north of Maysville. She was the 5th of 9 children born to John Presley and Ada Dell (Evans) Orr. She grew up a farm girl cutting broomcorn and picking cotton. She attended school at Arnoldview, southwest of Purcell. During World War II, she took a job as a Rosie The Riveter, building parts at the McDonald-Douglas parts plant in Midwest City. In 1946, she went to work at the Artistic Weave Shop on 25th & Classen in Okla. City. Paralee later purchased the business, spending her last 12 years as owner and operator. She retired after more than 32 years, and in the 1978, moved to Wayne to be close to her sister, Opal Woods. She became an active member of the Wayne community, regularly attending the Wayne Senior Citizens and the Wayne Church of Christ. She was a gifted quilter, who won many awards and shared her talents with her family and friends. She enjoyed working in her yard and was known for her beautiful flower gardens. She was a loving sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her parents, John “Tobe” and Ada Orr; Siblings, James Perry “Pete” Orr, Jack Bradley Orr, Orbin Lindsey Orr, Dorothy Opal Woods, Ada Lee Johnson, Helen Bennett and John Orr, Jr. and Jewell Dunn.

Paralee leaves behind: Numerous nieces and nephews and their families, and a host of other family and friends.

The Family would like to thank the Grace Living Center staff, her doctor and her nurses, for the wonderful care given Paralee during her time there.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Okla. City. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell. Send online condolences @ wilsonlittle.com
