Ann Loretta (O’Brien) Miner, 91, residing at St. Ann’s Nursing Home died at Mercy Hospital on Saturday morning, October 10, 2015.

The daughter of Neal and Bernice (O’Hara) O’Brien, Mrs. Miner was born on January 22, 1924 in Elk City, Oklahoma. She attended St. Joseph’s school, Elk City and graduated from Merritt High School, Elk City in 1942. While selling War Bonds at the U. S. Naval Air Station, Clinton, Oklahoma Ann met Seaman John Miner of Struthers, Ohio. She and John married in 1944, and they had daughter Patricia and two sons John and Robert. The family moved from Elk City, Oklahoma to Clarksville, Texas in 1951; and to Struthers, Ohio in 1956 and then to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 1957 where they established permanent residence.

Mrs. Miner was preceded in death by husband John, her parents, brothers Gene, Dennis and John.

She is survived by daughter Patricia, son John, daughter-in-law Mary Jane Miner, son Robert, daughter-in-law Donna Miner, grandchildren David, Julie and Paul Miner; Zachary, Nicole and Sarah Miner and Matthew Lawson and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Mrs. Dennis (Vida Joy) O’Brien.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 PM and Rosary will be at 6:30 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Vondel Smith & Sons Mortuaries, 4000 SW 119th St. Oklahoma City.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church, 4201 S McKinley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73109.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens Cemetery.

Honorary pallbears will be David Miner, Paul Miner, Matthew Miner and Mike Swart.

The family is deeply grateful to the entire staff of St. Ann Nursing Home for their tremendous support and care for the past few months (and the preceding years) and Heavenly Hospice for their support and guidance during the recent months.

We are also grateful for the great care provided by so many at Mercy Hospital.
