Maxine graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1945 and worked for many years as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ. Maxine enjoyed making pies for the sick and shut-ins and baking cookies for preachers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Edna Mackey, Zelma Plato, and Alpha Beard; and two brothers, Charles Childers and Ernest Childers.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 68 years, Wayne Mashburn, of Blanchard; one daughter, Ellen Reece and her husband, David, of Yukon; one son, Jerry Mashburn and his wife, Connie, of Edmond; four grandchildren, Tonya Muzzy of Yukon, Gina White of Yukon, Shelly Walker and her husband, Matt, of Edmond, and Aaron Mashburn and his wife, Amy, of Korea; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Don Childers and his wife, Penny, of Texas and Jimmy Childers and his wife, Aileen, of Florida; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Blanchard Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
