Aileen June Justice, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, died on Sunday, January 1, 2012 in Bedford, Texas.

June's life will be celebrated with a funeral service at the First Baptist Church in Norman, Oklahoma on Friday January 13, 2012 at 1:00pm. The family will greet friends at a special visitation from 5:00 to 8:00pm Thursday evening, January 12, 2012 at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street, Norman, Oklahoma, 73072, 405-329-0101.

Interment will conclude in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City.

June, a lifelong dedicated Christian, was a member of the First Baptist Church for sixty-four years.  She was born in Washington, Oklahoma on May 4th, 1921. Her parents, Evan Lawrence Marti, and Anna Frank (Miller) Marti moved June and her sister, Evanna, to Norman in the mid 1940's.  On October 12, 1950, June was married to Thurman "Jake" Justice in the Marti family home on Boyd Street.  Jake, a widower, brought to the marriage a "ready made" family; a son, Gerald (Jerry) Justice, and a daughter, Patricia (Patti) Justice. June’s other children are William Marti Justice and Bruce Alan Pitts. After graduating from Washington High School and moving to Norman, June graduated from the University of Oklahoma and became a public school educator.

In those early days as an English and music teacher, June took her love of music (she was an accomplished pianist) and became the instrumental music teacher and marching band director at Putnam City High School.  She later taught at McKinley Elementary School in Norman. After a hiatus from teaching to raise a family, June resumed her teaching career in 1967 as an English teacher in the Norman Public School System.  June’s personal brand of humor inspired her students to embrace and enjoy the learning experience she created. To this day, former students speak of her with highest regard and fondest memories.

June will be greatly missed by her four children and their spouses, Gerald (Jerry) Justice and his wife, Janice (Wharton) Justice, Centennial, Colorado, Patricia  Justice-Harper and her husband, Horace Harper, of Clermont, Florida, Bruce Pitts and his wife Brenda (Smith) Pitts, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, William Marti Justice and his wife, Marilyn (Poindexter) Justice, M.D., Grapevine, Texas.  Her grandchildren are Jason Justice, David Justice, Paul Justice, Scott Askew, Jessica Justice, Jacob Justice, David Pitts, Mark Pitts and Scott Pitts. June will also be missed by her four great-grandchildren Miles Justice, Ella Bondy, Devin Davis and Lauren Askew.

June is preceded in death by an infant brother Miller Dale Marti, her parents Evan and Anna Frank Marti, her husband Jake Justice and her sister Evanna Clayton.
