Ora (Flaming) Elmore

Ora Flaming Elmore, formerly of Newcastle, departed to the everlasting arms of Jesus on December 21, 2016 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 6 months, and 22 days. She was born on May 29, 1926, in Aberdeen, Idaho to A.H. Flaming and Emma Mae (Mikesell) Flaming.

 Ora graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in Medical Technology. While at OBU, she met Charlie Elmore, a pastoral student, and they were married on October 13, 1949 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

 Ora was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Newcastle, Oklahoma. She served as a pastoral wife to various churches in central Oklahoma. Her hobbies included painting, knitting, and collecting antiques.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Charlie Elmore; one daughter, JoDeLynn Roberts; two brothers, John and Orion Flaming; and one sister, Esther Strickland.

 Ora is survived by one daughter, Jalena Standrich and her husband, Mark, of Norman; one son, Shawn Elmore of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Kristina Carroll of Tulsa, Kyle Carroll of Texas, Shawn A. Elmore, and Shannon Elmore, both of Moore, Jason Standrich and his wife, Kellie, of Arizona, Alecia Horner and her husband, Bryan, of Oklahoma City, and Mark C. Standrich of Oklahoma City; nine great grandchildren, Lailea and Jayden Carroll, Adrian, Austin, Aliyah, Alexis, Ayden, Aaron and Evie Horner; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

 The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Lakeside Church of God in Norman. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City. There will be no graveside service. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
