Beard, Beverly Jo, 82, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  She was born September 17, 1928 in Oklahoma City to John and Nellie (Harmon) Scott. 

Beverly was a supervisor at Walmart for eight years before retiring in 1993.  She enjoyed traveling, going out to eat with her family and activities with her grandchildren.  Beverly loved the holidays and cooking for her family, their favorite being her fried chicken and chocolate pies at Thanksgiving.  Beverly loved talking to people and never met a stranger.

Beverly is survived by her son, Chris Beard and wife Lynn of Norman; stepdaughter, Kathy Abernathy of Sparta, NC; stepson, Mike Beard of Kansas City, MO; sister, Jonnie Williams of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren, Sgt. Jeff Beard, Michael Beard, Mehgann Beard and Myleigh Beard; and one great granddaughter, Savannah Beard; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Karl Beard; two sisters, Mildred Campbell and Marie Blanchard. 

Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman. Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the First Christian Church, 220 S. Webster, Norman with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens.  Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
