Snodgrass, Oliver R. “Snod”, 80, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 in Norman, Oklahoma.  He was born July 30, 1930 in Charleston, West Virginia to O.R. And Laura (Brewer) Snodgrass.   He was united in marriage on July 25, 1953 to Betty Forrester.

Snod served his country proudly in the United States Air Force being honorably discharged in 1954.  He retired as a superintendent for Occidental Petroleum Corporation in 1995, serving more than 41 years in the oilfield industry.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norman.  Snod was an honest and kind man and was very patriotic.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling the United States with Betty in their motorcoach.  

He is survived by his wife, Betty Snodgrass of the home; one son, Bob Strough and his wife Myrna of Norman, OK; three grandchildren, Susan Strough of Dallas, TX, Scott Strough and his wife Kate of Frisco, TX and Autumn (West) Smith and her husband John of Norman; and five great grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Cheryl Ann West.

Visitation will be held 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman, OK.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Norman under the direction of the Havenbrook Funeral Home.
