Virginia “Ginny” L. Raley, 89, longtime resident of Norman, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

She was born October 13, 1924 in Gering, Nebraska to James Wesley and Sarah Dorothy (Wood) Ponder. 

Ginny is survived by her daughter, Patricia Sue Gallup and husband Timothy of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Jennifer Gallup; and grandson, Nathan Gallup.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Theodore Raley; daughter, Karen Raley; and son, Cary Raley. 

Memorials may be made in memory of Virginia Raley to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66676. 

A private graveside memorial is planned for later this summer in Norman, OK. Arrangements for Ginny and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
