Mayo, Mary M. “Mikey”, age 64, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma.  She was born June 2, 1948 in Norman to Lyle and Mary Bess (Pickard) Gamel. 

Raised in a military family, she had lived primarily on the east coast and in France and Tripoli, Libya. Mikey moved back to Norman in 1982 from Hampton, VA.

After moving to Norman, Mikey enjoyed years of service at varied jobs where she made many friends.  Mikey became an avid sports fan for OU football and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
She was loved by her parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Gamel, and several aunts and uncles. 

 She is survived by her mother, Mary Bess Gamel; sisters, Karen Urette and Teri Buek; brother, Gary Gamel; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.  She is also survived by her daughter, Kristina, grandchildren, Kortney and Kodiak and great granddaughter, Kaiden; and her son, Ronald of Hampton, Virginia.

Memorials may be sent in Mikey's memory to the Norman Regional Health Foundation, PO Box 1665, Norman, Oklahoma 73070.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 with the family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Norman with Chaplain Harry Smith officiating.
