Joan (Treas) Ganus

Funeral srvices for Joan Ganus, 62 Norman, were held  at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Northeast Baptist Church in Norman with Reverend Burtis Williams officiating and Dr. Ed Sasnett assisting. Burial followed at lOOF Cemetery in Norman under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home, Norman.        
 
Mrs. Ganus was born in Ada on Nov. 10, 1947, to Chester E. and Evelyn Treas  and died Friday, March 5, 2010 in Norman. She attended school at Lula and graduated at Tupelo. She also attended East Central University and University of Science and Arts at Chickasha.        
 
Joan and Mike Ganus were married in Stonewall on Aug. 12, 1966, with Rev. Burtis Williams performing the ceremony. They lived in Ada, Lindsay, and Norman.

She worked general office and bookkeeping work for several years at Pre-Paid Legal and First American Bank in Purcell.  Joan was an active member of Northeast Baptist Church in Norman.

Preceding her in death were her father and her brother, John Mark.
 
Survivors include her husband, Mike of the home; daughter, Katrina Lynn Spohr and husband, David, and granddaughter, Erin Nicole of Pleasanton, Cali.; mother, Evelyn Treas; brother, Jack Treas; sister-in-law, Marla Treas; special cousin, Shirley Abney and several relatives in the Ada and Texarkana, Texas area.
 
Bearers were Kenneth Fortner, Todd Martin, Drue Martin, Roy Haney, Weslee Haney, and Bubba Williams. Honorary Bearers will be Shirley Abney, Joyce Moten, GaeVonne Martin, Sheri Haney, Darlene McDowell, Glenda Rachwal and Dyan Chiles.
