Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Edwards, age 85, of Norman, will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 23, 2012 at the First Assembly of God Church, 2500 East Lindsey in Norman with Pastor Jerry Drewery officiating.

The Edwards Family will greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.

Wanda was born July 10, 1926 in Norman, Oklahoma the daughter of Harper and Flora Lea (Clouse) Gill.  She passed away at Hospice Quality Care in Midwest City, Oklahoma on Tuesday evening, April 17, 2012.

Wanda was raised in the Norman and Tecumseh area, attending the Norman Public Schools.  She was united in marriage to Mr. William Thomas Edwards on July 21, 1942 in Noble, Oklahoma.  Wanda was very honored and proud that she obtained her G.E.D. in 1984.  She was an accomplished wife, mother and grandmother that always put her family first.  Wanda was happy to be a stay-at-home Mom, making the investment in her children.  She also enjoyed spending time at Garage Sales and Traveling.  She was also very aware of birth-dates of  her church family and friends, sending birthday greeting cards throughout the year.  Later in life, Wanda enjoyed and adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She also made time daily to spend peaceful, quiet moments with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, reading the Bible.

Wanda was the last charter member of the First Assembly of God Church in Norman, holding a membership there since she was a young girl.  She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post number 88.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Jane Daniels of Norman; two daughters-in-law, Judy Edwards of Norman; and Sandra Edwards of Brazoria, Texas; nine grandchildren; Rhonda Kuharski and her husband, John of Lake Jackson, Texas, Tammy Butler of Norman, Steven Edwards of Louisville, Kentucky, Veronica Edwards of Washington, DC, Erica Edwards of Norman, Anne Elizabeth Bell of Owasso, OK, Dr. Amy Edwards of Raleigh, North Carolina, Donald Ray Baird and his wife, Crystal of Noble, and Bobby Gene Daniels of Norman; nine great grandchildren; Stephanie, Brittney, Jacob, Remington, Kiersten, Jamison, Cheyenne, Trevor, and Jeff; two great great grandchildren, Leigha and Kyla; and a special family friend, Kim Russell of Norman.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Edwards on March 21, 2000; two sons, Ronald Gene Edwards and Tommy Richard Edwards; one brother, Bobby Gene Gill and one great great grandson, Joshua Thomas Simpson.

Burial will conclude in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman.  Arrangements for Wanda and her family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
