Vivian Mae Cline, nee Kimery, 90, departed for heaven on July 22, 2015, at her home in Norman, OK, surrounded by her loved ones.

Vivian, also known as Nonna or Nonnie to her beloved grand-, great-grand-, and great-great-grandchildren, was born on February 12, 1925 to Taylor Kimery and Etta Percival Kimery. Vivian was the sixth of twelve children. She grew up and attended school in Newcastle, OK.

Vivian married Robert “Bob” Earl Cline on June 6, 1942. In 1943 the couple welcomed a son, Robert Wayne, and in 1953 had their daughter, Deberah Elaine. The couple made their home together in the greater Oklahoma City metro area until Bob’s death in 2000.
Vivian worked hard throughout her life to help support her family, including at the Haier Building in Oklahoma City, at the Humpty Dumpty grocery, Safeway, and in housekeeping at OU Student Housing. In the 1960s until her retirement she worked the meat market and checkout line at Sterr’s Grocery on West Main Street in Norman, where she was a favorite of regular customers.

Vivian was a woman of great faith and was involved in the Baptist Church throughout her adult life. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist church.  She loved to work in her yard and her flower garden was beautiful as a result, and attracted many butterflies and hummingbirds. She was a voracious reader, favoring detective fiction with the occasional romantic story mixed in. She loved to wear bright colors, especially pink, and when her granddaughters were young they loved to play dress up in her always-stylish wardrobe and jewelry and to play with her extensive make-up collection. Vivian loved to host family get-togethers, and her grandchildren will always remember her fried okra and fried potatoes (always cooked in cast-iron skillets) fondly. Vivian also loved her Sooners and would never miss watching a game on TV if it could be helped. At the time of her passing Vivian’s greatest joy was spending time with her great- and great-great-grandchildren. She adored “her babies” and they adored her in return.

Vivian was predeceased by her parents, Taylor and Etta Kimery, husband, Robert Cline, grandson Mark Cline, son-in-law Steve Cain, and seven sisters and two brothers.

Vivian is survived by her son Wayne and his wife Laura, daughter Debbie Cain, and her sisters Geneva Dingus and Betty Jean Janko. She is also survived by her grandson David Cline, granddaughters Kristi Morgan and her husband Matt, Keri Cain, and Julie Roseberry and her husband Eric, as well as her great-granddaughters Ashley and her husband Joe, Emmilee, and Hannah, great-grandson Mason, great-great-grandson Tanner, and great-great-granddaughters Skylar and Sophie.

Vivian's family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful staff at McCortney Family Hospice and to Dr. Rene Ballard for the loving care and support they provided to Vivian and her family.

Those wishing to honor Vivian’s life are encouraged to donate to the Veterans Corner (veteranscorner.org) or to plant a flower.
