Robert E. Bruemmer, 69, of Kingston, OK passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in Norman, Oklahoma. 

He was born December 21, 1941 in Houston, Texas to Walter and Irene (Rainey) Bruemmer.  He was united in marriage on November 8, 1963 in Norman to Mary Jolley. 

Robert served his country in the 45th Infantry Army National Guard and Texas Air National Guard.  He began his career with Hooper Printing and retired in 2001 from the U.S. Postal Training Center.  Robert was a member of the Norman Bass Angelers and enjoyed fresh and salt water fishing. After retiring, most of his time was spent with his wife, Mary; camping, traveling, and working in his yard.  Although their main residence was at Lake Texoma, they enjoyed winter months in South Texas. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed each and every minute spent with his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Bruemmer of the home; daughter, Brenda Mackey and husband Mark of Noble, OK; son, Robert “Bobby” Bruemmer II and wife Kelli of OKC; sisters, Arlena Bennett and husband Ralph and Betty Fulks and husband Avis both of Noble; three grandchildren, Kyle, Kelci and Kalie Mackey; his aunt, Mildred Dorris of Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of other family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Bruemmer and sister, Lorraine Rogers and husband Pat.

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 6, 2011 with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman. 

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron White of the Enos Baptist Church officiating. 

Interment will follow at the Noble I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Noble, OK.  Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
