Memorial services for Stanley J. McGehee, 69, of Norman will be held today (Thursday), July 7, 2005 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Norman with the Rev. Paul Ostrander officiating. Services will be under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
Mr. McGehee died July 1, 2005 in Norman.
He was born Aug. 12, 1935 in Chesapeake, Mo., the son of Kenneth Troy and Maedel (Patton) McGehee. He had lived in central Oklahoma since 1962, living in Norman, Purcell and Guthrie.
Mr. McGehee received a bachelor’s degree from Wichita University in Wichita, Kan., and a Master of Divinity degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Ill.
He served as the minister of the Presbyterian Church in Purcell. He later was the director of the Community Action Program in Oklahoma City and the director of the Logan County aging Services in Guthrie.
Mr. McGehee was a member of the Norman Optimist Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly Jean Cushman McGehee; one son, Marc Alan McGehee and one sister, Barbara Sack.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin Eric McGehee of Norman and Steven Jay McGehee of Apex, N.C.; one sister, Mardi Ray of Cedar Lake, Ind., and 10 grandchildren.
Flowers for the memorial service may be sent to St. John’s Episcopal Church of Norman.
