God opened his gates and the angels took our sweet Joyce to her eternal home on Sunday, July 11, 2004. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., July 14, 2004 at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, 120 S. Broadway, Moore, Okla. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, Okla.
Joyce is survived by loving husband, Dale Cazee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is also survived by parents, Rullon and Carrie Thomas and brother, Carroll Bud Thomas and sister-in-law, Diana of Tuttle. She and Dale had five children together. Joyce is survived by four daughters and one son. Her daughters are Debbie Collins and son-in-law, Ken of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Linda Dzelma of Indianapolis, Indiana, Marsha Pruitt of Chandler, Arizona, and Melissa Knapp-Barela and son-in-law, Dennis, and son Michael Cazee and daughter-in-law, Joanna of Moore, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Joyce was born on February 2, 1933 and passed away on July 4, 2004, of lung cancer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in the Newcastle/Tuttle area and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1952. She was an active participant in sports. Joyce retired from the Farmers Insurance Company in 1994.
Joyce was a member of the Antioch Social Club and attended the Antioch Christian Church. She has always been an active square and round dancer.
Joyce loved bird watching, gardening, and flowers. Carnations were her favorite flower. She was woman gifted with many artistic abilities. Their many adventures included visits to their children as well as a Hawaii luau,an Alaskan cruise, and many walks along the beaches in California, Florida, and Georgia.
Joyce was the greatest mother and grandmother. The strength, caring nature,and love shown to her children and grandchildren will be present today and forever carried to future generations of our families. Joyce touched our lives and our hearts. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Dale and everyone who knew and loved her. Joyce had a special affection for birds and birdhouses. Let the beautiful bird singing always be a reminder of Joyce's celebration of life.
