H.C. “Buzz” Lell, Jr., 83, of Blanchard, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer. The son of H.C. And Bessie Elizabeth (Windham) Lell, he was born July 29, 1929 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
 
Buzz was preceded in death by his parents; his five sisters, Leta Lell, Helen Beldon, Fay Price, Thelma Felton, and Winnie Martin; his brother, Bennie Lell; his half-brother, Bill; and his half-sister, Inez.
 
He is survived by his fiancee, Mildred Dykeman, of Blanchard; numerous nephews and nieces; and many other loved ones and friends.
 
Buzz attended Cole Grade School and then transferred to Norman School. He joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict from 1954 to 1956 where he was awarded the United Nation Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Buzz lived in Norman all his life where he was a chicken rancher. He also worked for Tyler and Simpson and later for the Veteran’s Hospital. He loved to dance and it seemed he went to every dance from Shawnee to Texas. He will be missed by all his family and his many friends he met along the way.
 
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Maguire-Fairview Cemetery in Noble. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
