Funeral services for Edna Mae Coffman, 77, of Lexington were held July 20, 2005 at the Pentecostal Church of God in Norman with the Rev. Jack Tracy officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Cemetery east of Lexington under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Coffman died Friday, July 17, 2005 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.

She was born June 3, 1928 in Wanette, the fourth of five children of Charlie Newton and Gracie Bissell Malicoat. She was reared southwest of Wanette, started school at Lone Oak and later attended Wanette and Lexington schools.

Following school, she worked as a waitress in Gainesville, Texas, before moving back to Lexington and working at the naval base.

On July 17, 1948 she married William Ray Hall in Oklahoma City. Together they were blessed with three children whom she nurtured and reared.

In 1961 she began working for the State Hospital and later the Veterans Hospital in Norman.

Ray passed away on June 11, 1970. Edna Mae Later married John Wesley Coffman on Aug. 18, 1971 in Gainesville, Texas. He died Jan. 11, 2002.

Mrs. Coffman retired from the Veterans Hospital after 30 years. She spent most of her adult life in Lexington, Noble and Norman.

She was an active member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Norman prior to that, the Rose Hill Pentecostal Church east of Lexington. She taught Sunday School to both the children and most recently to the Adults 55 and older age.

Edna Mae truly loved her family, they were the joy of her life, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed having family gatherings and just spending time together. She will be remembered as a very loving, caring, unselfish and giving person, always trying to help others.

Her hobbies included crocheting, walking, clipping coupons and buying groceries for those in need. She will be missed greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; her step-mother, Hettie Malicoat; two brothers, Truman and Jesse Malicoat and a grandson, John Shannon Freeman Jr.

Survivors include her children, Linda Smith and her husband, A.V., and Bobby Hall and his wife, Terry, all of Lexington, Peggy Haddock and her husband, Jim, of Bartlesville and John Shannon Freeman and his wife, Jackie, of Tecumseh; two sisters, Ruby Berry of Norman and Hazel Graham of Shawnee; one sister-in-law, Ruth Malicoat of Noble; eight grandchildren, Greg Smith of Lexington, Shelley Winn and her husband, Matthew, of Elk Grove, Calif., Lisa Harris, of Harrah, Tom Basta and his wife, Dawn, of Edmond, Jeff Hall and his wife, Melissa, and Mindy Hall, all of Wanette, Shanitha Demrick of Pryor and Howard Freeman of Tecumseh and 15 great-grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Ashley, Matthew and Alison Winn, Tiffany and Daniel Dragoo, Summer Donaldson, Rylee and Hailey Basta, Mikinzy Hall, Elizabeth and Kimberly Freeman and Samantha, Shannon and Skylar Demrick.

Pallbearers were Greg Smith, Tom Basta, Jeff Hall, Jerry Malicoat, Terry Miller, Gary Lefler and Zack Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were the Noble Fire Department.
