Mr. Scott died Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at Norman Regional Hospital.
He was born Dec. 23, 1941 in Box, near Wanette, the youngest of nine children of Eldery and Jessie Warren Scott. He was born on the family farm where he learned the value of hard work. He was reared and attended school in Wanette, graduating from Wanette High School in 1959.
Following high school he went to Kansas and built grain elevators for a few months. After returning, he met and later married Karene Ann Johnson on Nov. 9, 1963 in Lexington at St. John’s Catholic Church. Together they were blessed with two daughters.
Mr. Scott worked for the University of Oklahoma as an auto body repairman for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was always working on the farm, always fixing this or that. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
He was an honest, honorable man who was always taking care of the needs of others. He was a friend of Bill W.
Mr. Scott delivered Meals on Wheels, helped the elderly with mowing lawns and running errands, to mention a few things. He had a great sense of humor that a lot of people didn’t know about until the prank was played on them.
His hobbies included hard work, spending time with the kids on the farm, splitting wood and the hay rides with the kids on the farm.
Mr. Scott will be remembered as a man who never judged anyone and always served others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eutha Ai Leen Wilson and her husband, Arlie; three brothers, Glen Scott, Marvin Scott and J.H. Scott and one brother-in-law, J.T. Staten.
