Purcell, OK -- Marvin Coy Gifford
Graveside services for Marvin Coy Gifford, 58, were held Aug. 22, 2005 at Box Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. Services were under the direction of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Mr. Gifford died Aug. 17, 2005 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.
He was born June 11, 1947 in Norman, the son of Chester Fair and Agnita Erdine (McNutt) Gifford Jr. He lived most of his life in the Cleveland/McClain County area where he was reared. He attended school in Oklahoma City and Norman, graduating from Norman High School and the University of Oklahoma.
Mr. Gifford was a retired carpenter and worked for the Joseph Harp Correction Center. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester and Gladys Gifford Sr. and Emmitt and Tisha McNutt.
Survivors include his parents, Chester Fair "Chick" Gifford Jr. of Purcell and Agnita McNutt of Lexington; children, Randall Gifford of Edmond, Alisha Koi Gifford, Phillip O.C. Gifford, Kameron Leigh Gentry and Cassidy Alan Gentry, all of Norman and special friend, Gynean Gentry of Purcell; two brothers, Allen Ray Gifford and his wife, Jeri, of Davis and Calvin Lee Gifford and his wife, Linda, of Norman and seven grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were David Bolser, Jamie Gifford, Charlie Clark, Phillip Gifford and Cassidy Gentry.
