CLAYTON, N.M. - Lera Marie Lucus, 77, died Thursday, May 16, 2002.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church in Clayton, officiating. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery of Capulin.
Mrs. Lucus was born in Des Moines on June 10, 1924, to George N. Sneed and Marie (Hotchkiss) Sneed. A devoted mother and grandmother, she raised two daughters alone and battled MS for more than 30 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna S. Lucus and Diane Avis, both of Clayton; a brother, Lawrence Sneed of Boise City, Okla.; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and two stepgrandchildren.
