Alvie Clarn Perkins

On October 13, 2015, Alvie Clarn Perkins passed from this life to spend eternity with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. Alvie (affectionately known as Big Al) was born July 23, 1931, in Johnston County, Oklahoma to Arthur and Selma Perkins. He married Glenda Kay Jordan on November 12, 1958. They had three children: Tamra Jeanine, Alvie Jr. (Skip) and MaLinda Kay. Alvie was a meatcutter by trade and a coon hunter by night. He retired after 45 years in the grocery business. He also retired from coon hunting to take up wolf hunting with his good friend, Wayne Holder. He loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alvie never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with whoever crossed his path. He also had a huge heart for children.

Alvie is survived by his wife, Glenda, of the home; his three children: daughter, Tamra Cole and husband, Randy, of Boyd, TX; son, Skip and wife, Julie, of Soper, OK; and daughter, MaLinda Perkins of Boyd, TX; three grandchildren: Whitney Lamance and husband, Dusty, of Keeter, TX; Jaelie Perkins of Checotah, OK; and Sunshine Crittenden and husband, JR, of Fort Campbell, KY; and four great-grandchildren: Rendyn Clarn, Jett Ruel and Harper Macrae Lamance of Keeter, TX and Trent Lane (JoJo) Crittenden of Fort Campbell, KY. He is also survived by one brother and three sisters, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Alvie C. Perkins, Sr. will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Boswell Church of Christ in Boswell, Oklahoma where he served his Lord and Savior with interment following at Sugar Creek Cemetery, north of Soper, Oklahoma.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 6:00-7:00 PM at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, Oklahoma.
