A celebration of life for Emily Ann Carter will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Soper Gymnasium in Soper, OK with Pastor Blake Gideon and Pastor Colby Bryant officiating and burial following at the Sugar Creek Cemetery, north of Soper. Emily passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 24.

Emily Ann Carter was born August 9, 1990 in Hugo, OK, to John Paul and Angie (Westbrook) Whipple. She married John Carter on September 28, 2009, and from their marriage, they had two wonderful boys, Caydin and Braxton; she loved her boys, and they were her life. She was truly a loving wife, mother, and daughter. Emily was saved at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hugo, OK at the age of 8, and she knew the Lord, Jesus Christ. Emily loved to fish, hunt, and go mudding, but she also loved going shopping. She truly lived life, and she sought to do all she could. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Nadine Harris, great-grandmother, Katherine Little, and her great-grandparents, Charless & Rose Westbrook.

Emily is survived by her husband, John Carter, of Soper, OK; two sons, Caydin and Braxton Carter of Soper, OK; her parents, John Paul Whipple and wife, Sena, of Edmond, OK, Angie Whipple of Paris, TX, and father and mother-in-law, Ronnie & Sharon Carter of Soper, OK; one brother, Derik Spangler and wife, Amber, of Powderly, TX; one sister, Kira Wilkie of Edmond, OK; one sister-in-law, Robin Carter of Soper, OK; two nephews, Memphis & Max Spangler of Powderly, TX; one niece, Hydie Malone of Soper, OK; grandparents, Pat Johnson of Lewisville, TX, Ronnie & Roxanne Westbrook of Paris, TX, and Gene & Debra Cole of Topeka, KS.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Archey Baptist Church, north of Soper. A meal will be provided for the family prior to the funeral at noon on Thursday at Archey Baptist Church.
