Funeral services for James E. "Ed" Armstrong will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK with burial following in the Sugar Creek Cemetery in Soper, OK with Pastor Rick Westbrook officiating.

James passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Carlsbad, NM at the age of 83. James E. "Ed" Armstrong was born on July 7, 1928, in Henryetta, OK, the son of Leonard and Ella (Meyers) Armstrong. He married Imogene (Reynolds) Armstrong in November 24 of 1954. They drove a cattle truck across county for Holton cattle Co. He had lived in this area until 1991, and then moved to West Texas to be near his grandchildren and closer to his son in the military. James loved hunting and the outdoors. He enjoyed life and kept his grandchildren supplied in watermelons.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Imogene; three brothers and one sister.

James is survived by one son, James Armstrong and wife, Sally of Carlsbad, NM; one daughter, Patricia White and husband, Roy Sr. of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughter, Michalle White and Chuck Harmer of Scranton, PA; grandson, Roy White Jr. and wife, Amanda of Carlsbad, NM; great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Mason White of Carlsbad, NM and Scarlette and Violet Harmer of Scranton, PA.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 9, 2012, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
